HPT Bracket and Jr. Dragster Series Set to Begin

Park E.T. Bracket and Junior Series Begins on Saturday
TOPEKA,
KS (April 6, 2010) – Heartland Park Topeka will kick off its 2010 racing season
this Saturday, April 10 with the E.T. Bracket and Jr. Dragster Series on the
drag strip. Saturday’s event is the first of an eight race series contested
throughout the summer.
Five
E.T. Bracket classes will be contested, Super Pro, Pro, Sportsman, Street, and
the Kansas National Guard Pro Bike class. A time only group will also run for
drivers wanting to test their machines or who do not want to enter the series.
Joining the bracket series for 2010 are the Junior Dragster classes A, B, and
C.
Gates
will open at 8:00 a.m., with time trials scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Eliminations
will begin immediately following the two time trial sessions. Entry fees and
payouts can be found in the 2010 E.T. Bracket and Jr. Dragster Series Rulebook
on www.HPT.com. The event run order will be as follows:

Racers and fans will be able to view the day’s races as they unfold by visiting
Heartland Park’s website, www.HPT.com.
Local
Boy Scouts will be converging upon HPT for the first bracket race as HPT will
host the Jayhawk Area Council Scout-O-Rama as they celebrate 100 years of
Scouting. Scout-O-Rama, is a fair involvingВ Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts and
Venturers of the Jayhawk Area Council.В The fair is open for public
exhibition.В
During
the Scout-O-Rama, Boy Scout troops, Cub Scout packs and Venturing crews will
staff diverse activity stations open to the public.В The booths and
activitiesВ could include first-aid stations, rope bridges, pioneering
projects, pinewood derby races, fishing, kite flying, archery, mountain man
reenactments, police and emergency vehicle displays, many arts, crafts and
games. Other activities include an antique Car Show, area vendors demonstrating
the latest in Scouting merchandise, and a 5K run.
