Heartland Park Topeka announced Monday that it will match the purse money donated by the drivers for this coming weekend’s Super Saturday Showdown race presented by the Kansas National Guard on Saturday, July 11 in the memory of driver Steven Bowers Sr., who passed away this past Saturday night.  Bowers Sr. has been a long time competitor on the Heartland Park Topeka 3/8-mile dirt track and all money raised on July 11 will be donated to help the Bowers’ family.   

During intermission spectators will have the opportunity to help as several drivers will pass their helmets in the stands to collect donations for the Bowers’ family. A moment of silence in honor of Bowers Sr. will take place before the start of racing. 

Heartland Park Topeka would like to extend its deepest sympathies to the Bower’s family for their loss and encourages the dirt track community and fans to come out this Saturday night, July 11, to show their support and honor a great racer.
