Saturday 4-10 Race Results

SHEPARD TAKES OPENING MODIFIED WIN

В Seventy-two cars turned out for the 2010 opener for the Super Saturday Showdown, with Robert Shepard of Ogden taking the first Modified victory of the year.

Perry's Nic Bidinger finished second in the Modified class, followed by Topekan Steven Bowers Jr., Emporia's Cody Agler and Topekan Billy Robison.

Topekan Dustin Thulin took the victory in B Modified Saturday, followed by Jack Frost (Topeka), Brian Murphy (Topeka), Lance Lincoln (Topeka) and Marty Grist (Topeka).

Tecumseh's David Samuels was the Factory Stock winner, with Josh Henery (Overbrook), Eric Weyer (Centralia), Tyson Young (Americus) and Leif Weyer (Centralia) rounding out the top five.

Berryton's Zachary Henery prevailed in Hobby Stock, with Topekan Dan Canady finishing second. A.J. Christian (Topeka) was third, with Randy Kohn (Topeka) and Sandy Ohruhlik (Topeka) finishing out the top five.

Topekans Bryan Janosik, Paul Mustain, Trey Hefner and Austin McClure were among the winners Saturday in the first round of the E.T. Bracket and Jr. Dragster Series at Heartland Park Topeka. Janosik was the Super Pro winner, while Mustain won in Pro Bike, Hefner in Jr. Dragster 10-12 and McClure in Jr. Dragster 13-18. Other winners Saturday included Curtis Blackburn (Raytown, Mo.) in Pro E.T., Lindsay Lippert (Emporia) in Sportsman, Dave Wilson (Overland Park) in Street and Cameron Beasley (Milford) in Jr. Dragster 8-9.
