HPT.Com Speedway Packs Extra Dose of Racing In This Saturday Night

Sometimes things never go the way you want them to go.

It was a Friday night special last week that was packed full of excitement. The Lucas Oil MLRA were on hand with their fire-breathing late models and the surface was one of the best ever at HPT.Com Speedway. It was a recipe for success.

Brad Looney won his 2nd straight feature with the MLRA and Zachary Henrey won his 1st Casey's General Store Pure Stock main event of the new season. It seemed life was grand.

Just as soon as you get content, the thing that nobody wanted to happen occurred. Lightning and rain ended a super night prematurely. On the other hand, it gives race fans who might have missed last week a chance to see some extra racing on top of their regular dose of the BriggsAuto.Com Super Saturday Showdown Series.

This week fans will get to see the completion of last week's races. The Super 8 at Forbes Landing B Mod feature, White Line CDL Factory Stock feature and the Washburn Tech Modified features will all be raced before the current night's heat races get started.

So for those of you who aren't counting, it means you get to see two features in all of the classes, with the exception of the Casey's General Store Pure Stock class.

Heartland Park officials wanted to make sure that they had enough time to get all of this great racing action in on Saturday night and because of this they have adjusted the schedule for the night.

Along with all of the great racing action, this Saturday night will be full of other activities for the whole family. HPT is bringing back the Kid’s Zone complete with a bouncy house, clown and games for kids of all ages! And adults will have an opportunity to participate in a Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Wing Challenge at intermission for great prizes.

Spectator gates will open at 4:30 p.m., hot laps will begin at 5:15 p.m. and the first make-up feature will go green at 6:00 p.m.

Ticket prices are $10 for adults, children (12 and under) are $5, seniors are $8 and military with an ID are free. HPT continues to sell online tickets at a discount. To order your tickets online, log on to Heartland Park Topeka's official home on the web
