Early Cinco de Mayo Celebration Headlines Race #5 At HPT.Com Speedway
Topeka, KS. - The racing action at HPT.Com Speedway has been exciting in the early portion of the season. There has been dominating performances, wild rides and close finishes to excite the crowd. This Saturday night, April 30, the crowd at Heartland Park will be seeing more than just great racing as HPT.Com Speedway will be hosting their Early Cinco de Mayo Celebration!
Racing is still the main attraction on the night, but fans will now get to celebrate with a jalapeno eating contest, a mariachi band, $1 nachos, $1 margaritas and much, much more.
Spectator gates will open up for this festive event at 5:30 p.m., hot laps are at 6:15 p.m. and the racing action gets under way at 7:00 p.m.
Adult tickets are $10, children are $5, seniors get in for $8 and Military personnel with their military id get in for Free! Fans can get their tickets at a discount, from the prices listed, by logging on and ordering them online at www.hpt.com.
If all of the special events for Saturday doesn't get your blood boiling, then the racing action will certainly do that.
Cody Agler ran off to an impressive win in the Washburn Tech Modified division last Saturday night. Agler had to hold off a strong field of competitors as HPT.Com Speedway was one only a few tracks to get their races in last weekend.
A multiple time feature winner from a year ago, Dustin Thulin, had to fend off the winner from night number 1 at HPT.Com Speedway, Dalton Kirk, to win the White Line CDL Training B Mod Feature.
It was a career first for Casey's General Store Pure Stock Feature winner, Randy Kohn. Kohn joined the racing world last season and in his 2nd year he took down his first feature win last Saturday night.
The best race of the night was the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stock Feature event. Dave Samuels used a last corner pass on Jim Powell to win by 12 inches. The two went door-to-door as the sped down the front straight to the flag stand. As the fans rose to their feet and the sparks flew, it was a photo finish that went to Samuels.
