It's A Double Dose of Family Fun This Weekend At HPT.Com Speedway
(Topeka, KS) ˆ Race tracks from time to time will like to do something different. So far in 2011, HPT.Com Speedway has tried a lot of different things. Each of these new items were brought in to help boost the excitement at a place that was already over flowing with excitement. This season the folks at Heartland Park have been working hard to make the whole family have fun each time they venture out to Heartland Park Topeka. This weekend will have a ton of excitement as the BriggsAuto.Com Super Saturday Showdown Series takes place on Saturday night and then on Sunday HPT.Com Speedway will be hosting the Advantage Metals Recycling Demolition Derby.
Fans will get to see their great dirt track racing on the first night and on the 2nd day fans will get a full dose of mayhem with an old-fashioned demo derby. The weekend has another big plus, all kids 12 and under get in FREE all weekend long!
This weekend is shaping up to be one of the best of the entire year.
Racing at HPT.Com Speedway this season has been great. Last Saturday night, Steven Bowers Jr., Steve Herrick, Randy Kohn and Dalton Kirk all drove to victory lane.
Kirk was the big winner of the night. He won the White Line CDL Training B Mod A Main and in doing so, became the first driver in that class to repeat as a feature winner.
While the action stays on hot on the race track, the points for the season championship are beginning to take shape as well. Cody Agler, Steve Herrick, AJ Christian and Dustin Thulin all lead their respective divisions, but the points races are far from over with. This Saturday night will be just another rung in the ladder for the competitors and the fans won't want to miss a minute of the action.
Sunday's event will be more laid back. Destruction and mayhem will be on the card as drivers in 4 classes, 80's and newer, Front Wheel Drive Compacts, Trucks and Compacts! The titles just scream, FUN!
The fun won't stop until there is one driver left standing. This is something that is not normal at HPT.Com Speedway, but it should be a fun break from the norm.
Action on Saturday night will begin with the spectator gates opening at 5:30 p.m., hot laps begin at 6:15 p.m. and the racing action starts at 7:00 p.m. Adult tickets are $10, kids 12 and under are free. Fans can still get discounted tickets by ordering online at hpt.com.
Sunday's schedule will get started with the spectator gates opening up at 1:30 p.m. and the destruction starts at 2:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $15 for this event and kids 12 and under are free.
