An 'Air' Of Magic Comes To HPT.Com Speedway This Saturday For Harry Potter Night At The Races
Topeka, KS -This Saturday night at HPT.Com Speedway they will will be celebrating the release of the final installment of the Harry Potter series; Harry Potter And The Deathly Hollows Part 2 and they will be witnessing some spell-binding racing on the track.
For most of the season the employees of Heartland Park have been doing an amazing job getting the fans to become part of each race night experience, and this weekend won't be any different.
Kids of all ages will be able to compete in events such as, a Harry Potter themed costume contest, Quidditch, Harry Potter trivia and much more magical fun. It will be an amazing time for all involved.
On the race track, there is a racer who is on a bit of a hot-streak and he tends to resemble Harry Potter, Darron Fuqua.
Fuqua drove to a big pay day win last Saturday night against some stiff competition. It was his 7th win of the season and not only did he get the win, he took over the top spot at the points.
This weekend look for several other drivers in the Washburn Tech Modified division to be gunning for this hot shoe, but don't be surprised if Potter, I mean Fuqua, doesn't put a time warp spell on the them and take his 8th win of the season.
In the Factory Stock division last Saturday night Dave Samuels made his way back to victory lane. At the beginning of the season it looked as if Samuels would dominate this class. That wasn't the case.
The collection of Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stock drivers have stepped up their games in 2011. The competition has gotten stronger and the racing on the track has gotten more exciting than ever before. This weekend should be no let down from the pervious races at HPT.Com Speedway.
In the B Mods last week, Mike Higley drove to his 3rd win of the season. It was a win that edged him closer to the points leader, Dalton Kirk, but he still has a way to go.
The White Line CDL Training B Mods have struggled a little in the past, but fans would have to think that they are capable of putting on some great races. This weekend look for some redemption from this class as they knock heads one more time.
Zach Henery is still the hottest driver at HPT. Nine wins on the season and he doesn't appear to be slowing down at all. A points championship is on the mind of this young racer and he isn't going to get off the 'fun button' until he is there.
Summer start times are still in effect. Spectator gates open up at 6 p.m., hot laps will be at 6:45 p.m. and the racing goes green at 7:30 p.m.
Adult tickets are $10 and kids 12 and under are just $5. Discounted tickets can be purchased online at www.hpt.com.
