Hot Racing Cool Water Fun Saturday Night At HPT.Com Speedway

Topeka, KS - Last week, not only did Mother Nature beat down on HPT.Com Speedway, about 2 miles up the road a water main also caused some damage. The water main break was enough to put a halt to the race night at HPT. Com Speedway. As temperatures roared towards 100 plus degrees, without the opportunity to put water on the track the decision was made to scrap the night's races.

Fear not race fans, because just as any good promotions team would do, HPT.Com Speedway is going to re-run Water Park Night again this Saturday night. The temperatures are still boiling around in the lower triple digits, so what time like the present to get these cooled back off again?

Take Two: How did that old Bobby Darin song, Splish Splash, go? Splish splash I was taken a bath long about a Saturday night! Something like that and this Saturday night there will be plenty of splish'n and splash'n going on as Water Park Night comes to HPT.Com Speedway.

As the temperatures in the capital city have topped the century mark for most of the week, the promotion staff at Heartland Park have come up with the next big thing. What a better way than to cool off from a long week and then watch the best racing in the midwest.

Fans will be treated to a water slide, water balloons, cool treats and much more. The first 200 kids in the gate on Saturday night will receive their own water gun. The night is sure to pack cool fun and great racing all night long.

On the track last week it was deja vu. Darron Fuqua ran away with his 8th Washburn Tech Modified feature win of the season, Dave Samuels notched his 6th win of the season in the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stocks, in the Whiteline CDL Training B Mods Mike Higley scored his 4th win of the year and Zach Henery, the hottest driver at HPT, rolled to win number 10 in the Casey's General Store Pure Stocks.

For the first time this season every winner from last week's races won the week before. It looks like 4 drivers might be on top of their game. Look for the rest of the competition to come out with all guns blazing this week, as the season starts to head down the home stretch. Championships, prize money and bragging rights are on the line. Don't think for a minute everyone is just going to give up.

You won't want to miss a minute of the action and you won't want to miss a minute of the cool fun at HPT.Com Speedway this Saturday night.

Summer start times are still in effect. Spectator gates open up at 6 p.m., hot laps will be at 6:45 p.m. and the racing goes green at 7:30 p.m.

Adult tickets are $10 and kids 12 and under are just $5. Discounted tickets can be purchased online at www.hpt.com.
