Back To School Bash Signals Stretch Run For HPT.Com Speedway Racers
Topeka, KS - This Saturday night at HPT.Com Speedway is celebrating a 'Back to School Bash.' There are several ways you can look at this evening. Parents will love this night because they are about to get a well-deserved break. Kids aren't going to love it so much because they know that summer is almost over. Racers will know that there are just a handful of races left to make up points or extend their points lead.
No matter how you look at it, HPT.Com Speedway will be hosting another fun promotion that will be highlighted by the best dirt racing in the midwest.
Heartland Park Topeka officials decided to make this Saturday night, a beneficial one. They are going to be collecting school supplies items to give to the local youth returning to school. Fans will have the opportunity to donate school supplies at the ticket window. If fans donate items they will receive $2.00 off the regular adult admission.
There will also be a ton of fun and games centered around the back to school theme. It should be a great time for all who attend.
On the race track it's time for race #17 of the BriggsAuto.Com Super Saturday Showdown Series. So far in 2011 the racers have lived up to all of the hype.
Darron Fuqua won the feature in the Washburn Tech Modified division last Satruday night. It was an emotional win after his father passed away on the previous Sunday.
This season Fuqua has rolled to 10 victories, as a matter of fact, he has not lost a race since June 25! This has been one of the greatest single seasons ever by an HPT Modified driver and there are still several races left.
In the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Factory Stocks, Dave Samuels rolled to win #7 on the season. Even though he has the most wins in the class this season, he is still chasing the points leader Steve Herrick for that all-important track championship.
One of the tightest points races might be developing in the White Line CDL Training B Mods. Mike Higley stormed to his 5th win of the season last Saturday night, but he is also gaining ground on the points leader, Dalton Kirk.
What seemed to be a big lead for Kirk has evaporated over the last few weeks and now these two are primed for a solid duel down to the wire.
A driver that seems to be having no problems whatsoever this season is Zach Henery. Henery is on a whirlwind this season. Last Saturday night he collected his 11th win of the season and he has a comfortable points lead heading down the stretch. Like Fuqua in the Modifiieds, Henery is having one of the best seasons of any driver in any division.
All season long the competitors of HPT.Com Speedway have been putting it on the line and the fans have come to enjoy the action on the speedway. Make plans this Saturday night to come out and enjoy the last weekend before school starts and the best dirt track racing in the midwest!
Saturday night the spectator gates open up at 6 p.m., hot laps will start at 6:45 p.m. and the racing goes green at 7:30 p.m.
Adult ticket prices are $10 and children 12 and under are just $5.00.
Don't forget to bring your school supplies to donate and receive $2.00 off an adult general admission ticket.
