Topeka, KS – Last Saturday night Mother Nature tortured the racers and fans at Heartland Park's Dirt Track for the 2nd time this season. The Casey's General Store Pure Stocks just finished their feature before Mother Nature opened up the skies and dropped rain all over the track. It was shaping up to be a great set of features.
Fans will not need to be upset for too long. This Saturday night's Super 8 at Forbes Landing Saturday Showdown will provide a double dose of racing action.

Saturday, July 13th, will welcome Bad Boy Bail Bonds Night at the races and the night will also contain the conclusion from the 4th Annual Steve Bowers Sr. Memorial Race. A whole lot of action rolled up into one show. The fans could not ask for anything more.

Byron Glotzbach was the only driver last week to enter victory lane by winning the Casey's General Store Pure Stock main event. Glotzbach not only picked up the win but he also took over the points lead in the division. The Pure Stock division is becoming a popular with the fans of the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Saturday Showdown. Drivers are starting to get some heated rivalries and it's providing more excitement in the class. This Saturday night's feature should be interesting.

Before the rain came pouring down, Washburn Tech Modified points leader, Darron Fuqua, went from worst to 1st in his heat race. A child in the crowd pulled out a number 2 ball that would put Fuqua on the front row for the $1,000 to win feature for Saturday night. Will Fuqua get the job done for his 8th win of the season? Will someone else sneak up and take the big money? These are all questions that will be answered early. Whatever happens in the early feature could dictate what will go on in the night cap.

The White Line Training CDL B Mod class seems to get stronger every week. New faces continue to show up and race. New drivers aren't just showing up and competing, they are running up at the front half of the field. This class has had the largest car counts of any class at HPT this season and their racing shows just how competitive B Mods are. Saturday night's double features could make or break someone's season.

One of the wildest divisions at HPT is the Ferrellgas Stock Cars. Zach Henery has the hot hand right now with 3 recent wins under his belt. It's possible that if Henery hadn't taken some time off early in the season, he just might be on top of the point standings. The wheel to wheel and door to door action keeps the fans glued to this classes every move. Car counts in the Stock Cars have been a little off this season but the racing action has been better than ever. Steve Herrick is still leading the points after a couple of tough races, this week he will look to rebound and try to slow down Henery's progress.

Saturday night the spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m., hot laps will start at 6:15 p.m. and the first race will go green at 7:00 p.m. The race lineup will have the 3 makeup features first, White Line CDL Training B Mods, Ferrellgas Stock Cars and Washburn Tech Modifieds. After the completion of the Modified main event the Super 8 at Forbes Landing Saturday Showdown Race #11 will begin.
