HPT.Com Speedway Sails Into BriggsAuto.Com Super Saturday Showdown Series Race #6

HPT.Com Speedway Sails Into BriggsAuto.Com Super Saturday Showdown Series Race #6

by Larry Lowrey

Topeka, KS - Every week it's seems that Heartland Park has outdone themselves. Promotions, special ticket prices and great racing has provided for a recipe of success in the early part of 2011. This Saturday night the action will return to HPT.Com Speedway for race #6 on the season and this time the focus will be on the racing.

A total of 20 feature events have been completed at HPT this season and out of those 20 races, the fans have enjoyed 14 different winners.

Fans love to see excitement. Fans love to see action. Fans really love to see parody when it comes to winning. Fans seem to hate the driver that wins a majority of the races. So far at HPT.Com Speedway, they haven't had that problem yet.

The class with the most winners this year has been the B Mod division. Not a single driver has been able to repeat in this class. Marty Grist is the most recent winner in the B Mods.

Grist put his car on the high side last week and overhauled 4 competitors in the last 2 laps to take home his 1st win of 2011. It stands to reason that we won't see 20 different winners in this class, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have more than 10 different winners when it is all said and done.

The Modified, Pure Stock and Factory Stock classes all share something in common when it comes to winners. They all have 3 different winners out of 5 races so far. Again, just like in the B Mod division, this is shaping up to be a great year from the competition.

Racing fans have always been fickle, but it's really strange how a driver that wins all the time is viewed as the villain. Fans toss out all the excuses too; he/she has the best equipment, he/she has all the money or (my personal favorite) he/she must be cheating.

This week HPT is also celebrating Mother’s Day. Along with the best racing in the area, there will be flowers fro all mothers in attendance and a Mother's Day Card coloring table where you can create your very own Mother's Day card! We will also be having a Super Mom contest where individuals can write down what it is that makes their mom the best! There will also be Autographs, Kids Zone, great concessions. Fans will not be disappointed by heading out this Saturday night to HPT.Com Speedway.

The spectator gates will open up at 5:30 p.m., hot laps will begin at 6:15 p.m. and the first race goes green at 7:00 p.m.

Adult tickets are $10, kids $5, seniors $8 and military personnel with military id FREE! Discounted tickets can also be purchased online at hpt.com.
