NHRA E.T. BRACKET SERIES

The most popular form of drag racing at Heartland Park Topeka is a handicapped form of competition known as "E.T. Bracket Racing." In this form of racing, two vehicles of varying performance potentials can race on a potentially even basis.  The anticipated elapsed times for each vehicle are compared, with the slower car receiving a head start equal to the difference of the two.  With this system, virtually any two vehicles can be paired in a competitive drag race.

In 2010, local and regional racers will compete in a series of 8 E.T. Bracket Races through out the summer on HPT quarter-mile drag strip. The HPT bracket series features Super Pro, PRO E.T., Sportsman, Pro Bike and Street classes.  The E.T. series racers contend for points and cash awards in each race and will vie for KING of the TRACK honors at the end of the season.

Points leaders will have the opportunity to represent Heartland Park in the Summit Racing Division 5 E.T. Finals, held at HPT, and to have the chance to compete against all other NHRA division winners at the NHRA Winter Nationals.   Individual winners receive a division trophy and travel expenses to the national finals in Pomona California where they will compete for $ 5,000, a national champion trophy and an experience of a lifetime!
