4 Super 8 at Forbes Landing Saturday Showdowns Left at HPT

4 Super 8 at Forbes Landing Saturday Showdowns Left at HPT
Topeka, KS - It's now make or break time!
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen!
Stay on the porch if you can't run with the BIG DOGS!
Throw every cliche out you would like beginning this weekend at Heartland Park Topeka. The Super 8 at Forbes Landing Saturday Showdown heads into this Saturday night, Sept. 7, with just 4 races remaining on the schedule.
At 7 p.m. some drivers will rise to the occasion and some drivers will fall.
One week ago in the Washburn Tech Modified division Steven Bowers Jr. made the most of his 2013 season. Bowers, a former multiple time track champion, went from 3rd to 1st in the point standings with 4 races left and looks to be staring down his 3rd championship. How?
As only 4 races remain it's been rumored that Kerry Davis and Darron Fuqua, both currently tied for 3rd, will not compete in the all of the final 4 shows. Nobody in the rest of the field will have a shot at Bowers, other than Davis and Fuqua.
It's quite a surprise for Bowers who got off to a slow start this season, but he has gotten hot at the right time and is making his move to run away from the competition. Last Saturday night was his 3rd straight win and 4 out of the last 5.
In the Ferrellgas Stock Car class Zach Henery put a little pressure on the current points leader, Steve Herrick, but Herrick knows where he needs to be this go round. If he can't win the best thing to do is stay as close as he can to Henery during the feature and he could be ready to pull in his 1st championship.
Herrick did just that last weekend. Henery got the win, but it was Herrick coming in a close 2nd only giving up a few of those valuable championship points.
Lance Lincoln exploded to the win in the White Line CDL Training B Mods last week. It was his 2nd victory of the season.
As the competition in the B Mod division gets stronger the racing action on the track gets better and better.
Jake Richards is running away with the points battle this season. His 7th place finish was off his normal pace, but with just 4 races to go Richards looks to have the best odds in clinching a championship before the final night.
What if? Is the question in the Casey's General Store Pure Stock ranks.
What if Tyler Garst hadn't stopped racing at HPT? What if Robert Garst had started the season at the beginning of the year? These are just a few of the questions that people are asking. Robert Garst has picked up the last
3 straight wins on the season and looks to be a favorite for the final 4 if he keeps rolling along like he has.
Byron Glotzbach, the points leader, has a strong hold on the top spot and don't look for him to just give it away. There is a reason he is at the top. Glotzbach has answered every bell this season and he has come out on top to this point.
The wildcard with 4 races left to go is the unknown. Who is going to stop in and win one? What hot shoe is going to stop in after their season has ended and make a run at the regulars? Is there someone in the class who hasn't won, that is going to get a win before it's all said and done?
That's what these final 4 races are left for.
Don't miss any of the action at Heartland Park Topeka's Dirt Track.
Spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m., hot laps will start at 6:15 p.m.
